WANTED: NSTA Committee Members

Another Member Benefit...Join an NSTA Committee!

If you are an NSTA member, then here is an opportunity for you to make a difference. Being a part of NSTA can mean so much more than reading the journals and attending conventions. As a member of NSTA, you have this opportunity to effect change through service on one of NSTA's standing committees, advisory boards and panels. Through committee membership you will interact with colleagues, gain insights into the complexity of issues affecting science education, and have a positive impact on science teaching and learning in your own states as well as nationally. NSTA depends on volunteers just like you. We need your expertise and value your input.

Committee assignments begin on June 1, 2007. However, standing committee and advisory board members will be invited to attend committee meetings at the NSTA National Conference in St Louis, MO on March 29, 2007. Your participation in that annual meeting is important and should be taken into consideration before applying.

If you are an NSTA member and wish to be considered for any of the committee assignments, carefully consider the expertise you will bring to the appointment. An attempt is made to limit appointments to a single committee. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you apply for the one committee you feel best fits with your skills. However, you may apply for up to three.

The application deadline is December 10, 2006. Appointments will be made through the end of the year and notification will begin at the end of February 2007.

If you have read these specifications and you are ready to volunteer your expertise:
